About:
Sunshine is a short that took eighteen years to make. That's how long I've lived in Willimantic, and that's how many years of experiences I had to take from and put into this film. When I was little I enjoyed going to the library and looking at old photographs of the town and see how much has changed. With this film I was able to add to that record and capture what Willimantic was like in 2020, whilst creating a nostalgic warmth that I felt from all those years of living.

This is also the first pinkwhitefilm! I'm happy with the success the film has had over the years and I'm grateful for having taken the leap into sharing this film with everyone!

B-Sides

Release Date: September 25th, 2023

About:
B-Sides is a collection of deleted shots from Sunshine.

The filming of Sunshine was therapeutic for me; I spent multiple days taking walks through the neighborhood trying to capture as much as possible before sunset. These sessions were filled with recollected memories and a greater appreciation of Willimantic's unique character. It didn't even feel like much work, I was skating around with my camera recording whatever felt right to me.

I wish I could've fit all of the footage into the final film but editing the B-Sides years later was a great way to revisit those days when I was wandering around with no destination, eyes that only looked towards the sky.

Willimantic Revisited

During a visit to Willimantic I took some photos on my phone and they came out really great! Some places in these photos can be seen in Sunshine, while others are places I didn't get to shoot; such as Jackson Street and Memorial Park. Enjoy these new views of the town and see some changes that have happened in a year since Sunshine.
